Slade Demonstrates Mastery of the 2007 Microsoft Office System
MINNEAPLOIS, MN – July 11, 2008
New Horizons of Minnesota instructor, Mark Slade passed a series of exams to become the learning center’s first Microsoft Certified Applications Specialist (MCAS). This certification is a globally recognized performance standard that validates skills needed to use the full features and functionality of the 2007 Microsoft Office programs and Windows Vista operating system.
This certification not only demonstrates Slade’s knowledge and expertise in the multiple technologies that make up the Microsoft Office system, but it also gives him an edge as an instructor. By earning this certification, he is better equipped to train others in working with Microsoft Office programs and even help them prepare for their own Microsoft certification exams.
In June, Slade passed four different Microsoft Office 2007 exams—Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. He then finished his Microsoft 2007 Office Certification by passing a Windows Vista exam on July 1. Slade has been an instructor at New Horizons of Minnesota since June of 2005 and teaches a variety of Microsoft classes, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Outlook and SharePoint. He also teaches Lotus Notes and SmartBoard.
