New Horizons of Minnesota Releases IT Service Management Education to Help Customers Take Advantage of ITIL v3
Edina, MN, USA— August 17, 2007— New Horizons of Minnesota today announced new training and curriculum to help IT organizations implement the recently released IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service management practices, known as ITIL v3. ITIL v3 is a framework of global IT management best practices focused on the management of IT service processes across the complete service management lifecycle.
When ITIL v2 came out in 1999, it grabbed the attention of visionary employees searching to make a difference in how they ran their IT departments in Minnesota. Supported by their businesses, these professionals became leaders in ITIL adoption in the U.S. corporate sector. As a result, the first itSMF (IT Service Management Forum) Local Interest Group in the U.S. was located in Minnesota where it remains strong today.
New Horizons of Minnesota has been a leader in bringing ITIL education to the Minnesota market and beyond. This holds true for the new ITIL v3 Refresh. Combining internal educational expertise in ITIL with v2 accreditation from ISEB and EXIN, New Horizons of Minnesota was able to receive ITIL v3 material early to start developing curriculum to meet market and partner demand when the transition from ITIL v2 to v3 took place.
New Horizons of Minnesota gave actual practitioners of ITIL the first look at the education offerings before making them publicly available. This series of first look beta classes was developed with positive yet constructive feedback from actual students.
“The instructor was charismatic, knowledgeable and fun. I felt both he and the course were excellent and I appreciate that New Horizons of Minnesota asks for key customer feedback when bringing forth offerings. I perceive ITIL v3 as very positive to companies because of the distinctive business focus and tie-ins,” said Jean Ritala, IT Support Services Manager for Mystic Lake Casino and former President of itSMF USA.
New Horizons of Minnesota is now prepared to share the resulting high quality curriculum and classes with others.“I can honestly say that when it comes to working hard for their students, New Horizons of Minnesota is a leader. They always take the approach of what is in the best interest for the student and the businesses they represent. If it means servicing their customers better or becoming a better partner, I know that New Horizons of Minnesota will not be afraid to take risks or break new ground and in return share their knowledge and services with others,” said Michael P. McLaughlin, US Regional Manager for EXIN USA.
New Horizons of Minnesota is one of the first training providers to offer ITIL v3 Bridge Certification courses that educate IT professionals on the differences between v2 and v3. The courses are available now and are in the process of being submitted for accreditation. Also available are the ITIL v3 Service Management Awareness Course and the ITIL v3 Foundation with Simulation Certification.
